6Official Secretary

#### 6 Official Secretary (1) There shall be an Official Secretary, who shall be appointed by the Governor‑General. (2) The Official Secretary, together with the staff employed under section 13, constitute the Office of Official Secretary to the Governor‑General. (3) The function of the Office is to assist the Governor‑General. (4) For the purposes of the finance law (within the meaning of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013): (a) the Office is a listed entity; and (b) the Official Secretary is the accountable authority of the Office; and (c) the persons referred to in subsection (2) are officials of the Office; and (d) the purposes of the Office include the functions of the Office referred to in subsection (3).
