#### 8 Deductions for rent in certain cases 8 Deductions for rent in certain cases > > (1) If a Public Service employee is allowed to use, for residential purposes, any premises belonging to the Government, the Industrial Relations Secretary may direct that a fair and reasonable sum as rent for the premises be deducted from the salary of the employee. > > > (2) In giving any such direction, the Industrial Relations Secretary is to either fix the amount of rent to be deducted or specify a person by whom the amount of rent to be deducted is to be fixed. > > > (3) If a Public Service employee is allowed to use, for residential purposes, any premises or any land vested in or managed by the Teacher Housing Authority of New South Wales, an amount fixed by that Authority in respect of rent is to be deducted from the salary of the employee and paid to that Authority. > > > (4) This clause is subject, in the case of a Public Service senior executive, to the contract of employment of the executive. > > > (5) In this clause, rent includes payment for board and lodging.
