#### 24 Acting appointments as Secretary of a Department 24 Acting appointments as Secretary of a Department > > (1) The Minister may appoint a Public Service employee to act as the Secretary of a Department if the office of the Secretary is vacant or if the Secretary is unavailable. > > > (2) A person, while acting as the Secretary of a Department, has all the functions of the Secretary. > > > (3) The Minister may, at any time, terminate an acting appointment. > > > (4) The regulations may make provision with respect to the conditions of employment of a person acting as the Secretary of a Department.
