> > (1) On the commencement of this Part:

> > > (a) the application referred to in section 9 for registration as a company is taken to have been granted, and
> >
> > > (b) GIO is taken to have been registered under section 137 of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703):

> > > > (i) by the name “GIO Australia Holdings Limited”, and
> > >
> > > > (ii) as a public company, and as a company limited by shares, within the meaning of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703), and

> > > (c) the name “GIO Australia Holdings Limited” is taken to have been registered in respect of GIO under section 374 (5) of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703).

> > (2) The date of commencement of GIO’s registration as a company under Division 3 of Part 2.2 of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703) is taken to be the date of commencement of this Part.

> > (3) For the purposes of Division 3 of Part 2.2 of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703), GIO is taken to have been, immediately before the commencement of this Part, and to be on that commencement, a corporation within the meaning of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703).
