6 Objects of Act The main objects of this Act are to— (a) promote safe and efficient gas usage; and (b) establish a regulatory system for the following: (i) the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of consumer piping systems; (ii) the connection of gas appliances to consumer piping systems; (iii) the commissioning, maintenance, repair and servicing of gas appliances connected to consumer piping systems; (iv) the testing and inspection of consumer piping systems and gas appliances; (v) the installation, operation, maintenance, commissioning, testing, inspection and repair of medical gas systems.
