234 Evidence of ownership In any legal proceedings by a gas distribution company or gas retailer, in addition to any other method of proof available— (a) evidence that the person proceeded against is shown in the books of the gas distribution company or gas retailer to be the owner or occupier of the premises in relation to which the proceedings are instituted; or (b) a certificate by the chief executive officer of the municipal council within the municipal district of which premises are situated to the effect that a party to the proceedings is rated in respect of those premises— is evidence and, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, proof, that the party is the owner or occupier (as the case may be) of the premises and the consumer of any gas supplied to the premises.
