143 Power to acquire easements (1) A corporation to which this section applies may, with the approval of the Governor in Council, acquire compulsorily an easement for or in connection with the construction or operation of a transmission pipeline or a distribution pipeline. (2) The **Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986** applies to this section and for that purpose— (a) the **Gas Industry Act 2001** is the special Act; and (b) the corporation to which this section applies is the Authority. ***corporation to which this section applies*** means a gas distribution company or a gas transmission company; ***easement*** includes right, charge, power or privilege in, under, over, affecting or in connection with, land.
