#### 55 Minors not to be detained 55 Minors not to be detained > A person under the age of 18 years may not be imprisoned, or detained in a detention centre, as a consequence of a failure to pay a penalty under this Act or an amount ordered to be paid under Division 4 of Part 3 of the [Fines Act 1996](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1996-099) in respect of a penalty notice issued under this Act.
