74 Application for approval as technician (1) An individual may apply, in writing, for approval as a technician for 1 or more approved suppliers. (2) The application must be accompanied by— (a) a statement by each approved supplier for which the applicant is applying for approval that— (i) the supplier is satisfied that the applicant is competent to exercise the functions of an approved technician; and (ii) the supplier employs, or has offered to employ, the applicant as a technician; and (b) an undertaking by the applicant to— (i) ask the police to check the applicant’s criminal record using the applicant’s fingerprints; and (ii) authorise the police to report the results of the check to the commission; and (c) a recent passport-size photograph of the applicant.
