165 Meaning of community etc—pt 12 community— (a) means the people living in— (i) the ACT or surrounding region; or (ii) if the Minister declares an area—the declared area; and (b) includes people living somewhere else in Australia who need relief or assistance because of a natural disaster. (2) The community is comprised of individuals and groups— (a) from diverse cultural, language and religious backgrounds; and (b) of different gender identity; and (c) of different sexual orientation; and (d) with disability; and (e) of all ages, including children and young people; and (f) in different social, economic and cultural circumstances. (3) A declaration is a notifiable instrument. groups includes community groups, associations and not-for-profit organisations.
