153 Penalty for late payment (1) Where, in respect of any licensed premises, by the end of the day prescribed of a month (or at the discretion of the Director by a time not more than 7 days later than the end of the day prescribed) the amount received by the Director under section 152(1) is less than the total amount referred to in that subsection in respect of that month: (a) the Director shall impose on the licensee a penalty calculated by applying the percentage prescribed on the difference between the 2 amounts; and (b) the amount received is to be credited as prescribed. (2) A penalty imposed under subsection (1)(a) is to be paid in the manner prescribed and is due and payable by the licensee on or before the day prescribed of the month following the date on which it is imposed.
