Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a formal commencement proclamation — essentially a legal "start button" — that activates specific parts of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Amendment Act 2007.

What it does:

Sets 1 July 2007 as the date when Parts 1 and 2 of Schedule 1 to the Amendment Act come into force (become operational law)
Was signed by the Deputy Governor-General on 28 June 2007 under authority granted by the Amendment Act itself

Why it matters: Many Acts pass through Parliament but don't apply immediately. This proclamation formally triggers the legal changes contained in those specific Parts, allowing the food standards amendments to take effect on the specified date.
