3 Objects The objects of this Act include the following: (a) to ensure food for sale is both safe and suitable for human consumption; (b) to prevent misleading conduct in connection with the sale of (c) to provide for the application of the Food Standards Code in the Territory; (d) to promote and enhance: (i) security of access to food, drink and grocery items for residents of remote Aboriginal communities; and (ii) the viable operation of food businesses carried out by stores servicing remote Aboriginal communities.
