#### 273 Return of things seized 273 Return of things seized > > (1) If a person disputes the seizure of a thing under this Part, the Minister may allow the thing to be delivered to the person disputing the seizure, subject to the person’s giving security to pay its value to the Minister should it be forfeited. > > > (2) The Minister may, at any time, direct that a thing seized under this Part be returned to its owner on such conditions (if any) as the Minister thinks fit. This subsection has effect whether forfeiture has taken place or not. > > > (3) A person who contravenes a condition under subsection (2) is guilty of an offence. > > > > Maximum penalty—25 penalty units. > > > (4) A thing seized is returned to its owner for the purposes of this Division if it is returned to the person who owns it or a person from whose possession it was seized. > > > (5) If the owner of the thing or any such person has died, the thing may be returned to the legal personal representative of the owner or person.
