sec.90 Notice of alternative way
The holder of the relevant authority, or another person acting under the authority, must, before or as soon as possible after approved vessel tracking equipment is installed on the relevant boat, give a notice (a boat communication notice ) to the chief executive. The boat communication notice must— be given to the chief executive in the approved way; and state an alternative way (an alternative way of communication ) in which the chief executive or an inspector may communicate with the person in control of the boat whenever that person is on the boat. The alternative way of communication— must not involve the use of vessel tracking equipment; and must allow a communication to be received on the boat instantaneously after it is sent by the chief executive or inspector. a facsimile, mobile phone, radiophone or satellite phone More than 1 alternative way of communication may be stated in a boat communication notice.
