sec.14 References to periods of days or months
This section applies if a provision states a period that— starts on a day or in a month (the first-mentioned day or month ); and ends on a day or in a month (the second-mentioned day or month ). The period is taken to start at the beginning of the first-mentioned day or month and end at the end of the second-mentioned day or month. A stated period from 1 November to 1 February starts immediately after midnight at the beginning of 1 November and ends immediately before midnight at the end of 1 February. (sec.14-ssec.1) This section applies if a provision states a period that— starts on a day or in a month (the first-mentioned day or month ); and ends on a day or in a month (the second-mentioned day or month ). (sec.14-ssec.2) The period is taken to start at the beginning of the first-mentioned day or month and end at the end of the second-mentioned day or month. A stated period from 1 November to 1 February starts immediately after midnight at the beginning of 1 November and ends immediately before midnight at the end of 1 February.
- (a) starts on a day or in a month (the first-mentioned day or month ); and
- (b) ends on a day or in a month (the second-mentioned day or month ).
