#### 62 Tranquilliser firearm permit 62 Tranquilliser firearm permit > > (1) The Commissioner may, on application by a person, issue a permit (a tranquilliser firearm permit) authorising the person (and any other person specified in the permit who would be eligible to be issued with a permit) to possess or use the tranquilliser firearm to which the permit relates. > > > (2) The Commissioner must not issue a tranquilliser firearm permit unless the Commissioner is satisfied that the possession or use of the tranquilliser firearm to which the permit relates is a necessary part of the occupation of the person or persons who will be authorised to possess or use it. > > > (3) A tranquilliser firearm permit authorises the holder of the permit (or any other person specified in the permit) to possess and use the tranquilliser firearm to which the permit applies only in the normal course of the person’s occupation or for the purposes of providing an approved training course in relation to the use of that firearm. > > > (4) A tranquilliser firearm permit also authorises a person to possess and use the tranquilliser firearm to which the permit applies for the purpose of enabling the person to undertake an approved training course in relation to the use of that firearm that is conducted by the holder of the permit. > > > (5) In this clause— > > > > tranquilliser firearm means a firearm designed for use in tranquillising, immobilising or administering vaccines or other medicines to animals.
