#### 22 Application for permit—proof of identity 22 Application for permit—proof of identity > > (1) The Commissioner must refuse to issue a permit unless the applicant provides proof of his or her identity in accordance with the requirements under the [Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988](http://www.legislation.gov.au/) of the Commonwealth that apply in respect of the opening of a bank account. > > > (2) This clause does not apply in respect of the issue of a permit to a person who is currently the holder of a licence or permit under the Act.
