(1) Any act, matter or thing that, immediately before the repeal of the Firearms Regulation 2006, had effect under that Regulation (the repealed Regulation), continues to have effect under this Regulation.

(2) Without limiting subclause (1)—

(a) any permit issued by the Commissioner under a provision of the repealed Regulation and in force immediately before the repeal of that Regulation is taken to be a permit in force under the corresponding provision of this Regulation, and

(b) any approval granted by the Commissioner under a provision of the repealed Regulation and in force immediately before its repeal is taken to be an approval in force under the corresponding provision of this Regulation.

(3) A change (resulting from the making of this Regulation or any subsequent amendment to this Regulation) to the grounds on which the issue of a licence or permit under the Act must be refused does not affect the issue of a licence or permit before the change takes effect.
