49V Search of associate without warrant or consent the powers set out in subsections (2) and (3) with respect to a person (an associate) who is in the company of a person to whom a firearm prohibition order relates, if the police officer believes on reasonable grounds that the associate: (a) is committing or is about to commit an offence against this Act; and (b) has a firearm or firearm related item in the associate's possession.

Firearms Act 1997 68 (a) search the associate, other than by strip searching the associate; (b) search any thing in associate's possession.
