26 Unregulated firearms—receipt for seizure
(1) A police officer who seizes a thing under section 25 must give a
receipt for the thing to the person from whom it was seized.
(2) If, for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1),
the police officer must leave the receipt, secured conspicuously, at the
premises where it was seized (the place of seizure).
(3) The receipt must include the following:
(a) a description of the thing seized;
(b) an explanation of why the thing was seized;
(c) the police officer’s name, and how to contact the officer;
(d) if the thing is removed from the place of seizure under
section 27—the address of the place to which the thing is
removed.
