254 Production of licence or permit on demand
(1) A person to whom a licence or permit is issued must, on demand made
by a police officer at any time—
(a) if the person has the licence or permit in their immediate
possession—produce the licence or permit for inspection by the
police officer; or
(b) if the person does not have the licence or permit in their
immediate possession—produce it as soon as practicable (but
not more than 24 hours) after the demand is made to the police
officer who made the demand or to another police officer
nominated by the officer; or
(c) state the person’s full name and home address to the police
officer.
(2) A person commits an offence against this section only if the police
officer, when making the demand, explains to the person that failure
to comply with the demand is an offence against this Act.
