178 Offence—requirements relating to registered firearms
(1) The registered owner of a firearm must produce the firearm for
inspection by a police officer at any reasonable time if asked to do so
by the officer.
(2) A person (other than a licensed firearms dealer) who is the registered
owner of a firearm commits an offence if the person—
(a) sells the firearm; and
(b) fails to give the registrar the particulars prescribed by regulation
in relation to the sale within 7 days after the day the firearm is
sold.
(3) A person (other than a licensed firearms dealer) commits an offence
if the person—
(a) acquires a firearm; and
(b) fails to give the registrar the particulars prescribed by regulation
in relation to the acquisition within 7 days after the day the
firearm is acquired.
