153 Offence—failing to give up suspended or cancelled
permit to acquire
(a) the person’s permit to acquire a firearm (the relevant firearm)
is suspended or cancelled; and
(b) the person intentionally or negligently fails to give the permit to
a police officer—
permit, and the person has the permit—immediately; or
(ii) if the permit is suspended by force of section 151 (Permits
to acquire—automatic suspension and cancellation)—as
soon as possible after the day the suspension of the
person’s relevant licence takes effect; or
(iii) if the permit is cancelled by force of section 151—as soon
as possible after the day the cancellation of the person’s
relevant licence takes effect; or
(iv) if the permit is cancelled under section 152 (Permits to
acquire—cancellation by registrar)—
(A) as soon as possible after the day the person is given
notice of the cancellation; or
(B) if a longer time is stated in the notice—within the time
relevant licence, of a person, means the licence or permit that
authorises the person to possess or use a firearm of the same kind as
the relevant firearm.
