148 Permits to acquire—period in force
(1) A permit to acquire a firearm begins on the day it is issued and
remains in force, subject to this Act, until the earlier of—
(a) the end of 30 days after the day the permit is issued; or
(b) the day the permit-holder acquires the firearm.
(2) The registrar may extend the period mentioned in subsection (1) (a)
so the permit is in force for not longer than 60 days if—
(a) there is a delay in acquiring the firearm to which the permit
relates; and
(b) the registrar is satisfied on reasonable grounds that the delay is
caused by circumstances beyond the permit-holder’s control.
