140 Temporary recognition of interstate licences for
international visitors—shooting or paintball competitions
(1) This section applies to an individual if the individual—
(a) is a resident of a foreign country; and
(b) holds an interstate licence issued by a State or another Territory
that authorises the individual to possess or use a firearm for the
purpose of taking part in a shooting or paintball competition in
the State or Territory; and
(c) comes to the ACT for the purpose of taking part in an approved
shooting or approved paintball competition.
use, for the purpose of taking part in the shooting or paintball
competition, the firearm for which the interstate licence is issued.
compliance with any condition—
(a) imposed under the law of the State or Territory that issued the
licence (the interstate condition); and
(b) prescribed by regulation.
(4) If an interstate condition is inconsistent with a prescribed condition,
the interstate condition has no effect to the extent of the inconsistency.
(5) An interstate condition is not taken to be inconsistent with a
prescribed condition to the extent that it is capable of operating
concurrently with the prescribed condition.
