### 2 Commencement > > (1) This section and [section 1](#GS1@EN) shall commence on the date of assent to this Act. > > > (2) Except as provided in [subsections (1)](#GS2@Gs1@EN) , [(3)](#GS2@Gs3@EN) , and [(4)](#GS2@Gs4@EN) , this Act shall commence on a date to be fixed by proclamation. > > > (3) [Sections 79](#GS79@EN) , [80](#GS80@EN) , and [81](#GS81@EN) shall commence on a date to be fixed by proclamation, being a day that is the same as, or that is subsequent to, the date fixed under [subsection (2)](#GS2@Gs2@EN) . > > > (4) *\[Section 2 Subsection (4) amended by No. 71 of 1979, s. 4 \]**\[Section 2 Subsection (4) amended by No. 12 of 1981, s. 34 and Sched. 1 \]* [Division 3](#HPVI@HD3@EN) of [Part VI](#HPVI@EN) ( [sections 79](#GS79@EN) , [80](#GS80@EN) , and [81](#GS81@EN) excepted), [Division 4](#HPVI@HD4@EN) of that Part, and [section 104](#GS104@EN) shall commence on 1st July 1980.
