120 Renaming of Act—Savings provision (1) On and from the commencing day, any reference in any Act (other than this Act), regulation, subordinate instrument, or other document whatsoever to the **Metropolitan Fire Brigades Act 1958** is to be construed as a reference to the **Fire Rescue Victoria Act 1958**, unless the contrary intention appears. (2) Except as in this Act expressly or by necessary implication provided, all persons, things and circumstances appointed or created by or under this Act or existing or continuing under this Act immediately before the commencing day continue under and subject to this Act to have the same status, operation and effect as they respectively would have had if this Act had not been amended by section 23 of **Firefighters' Presumptive Rights Compensation and Fire Services Legislation Amendment (Reform) Act 2019**. (3) Nothing in this section limits or otherwise affects the operation of the **Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984**.
