183 Police may exercise certain powers of the sheriff (1) The sheriff, with the approval of the Chief Commissioner of Police, by instrument may authorise a police officer or a class of police officer to exercise in accordance with the regulations (if any) all or any of the powers, functions or duties of the sheriff under this Act. (2) Without limiting subsection (1), a police officer authorised under subsection (1) may serve, in accordance with Part 10, a seven-day notice on a person against whom an enforcement warrant has been issued. (3) An authority given under subsection (1) may be subject to any conditions and limitations which are specified in the authority. S. 184 amended by No. 53/2021 s. 41.
