117 Remission of fines or penalties (1) The Administrator may remit, in whole or in part, any of the (a) a fine imposed on an offender under an Act; (b) a penalty incurred by an alleged offender under an Act; (c) enforcement costs in relation to a fine or penalty. (2) An amount that is remitted is to be taken to have been paid and the Fines Recovery Unit must cease enforcement action in relation to that amount. (3) This section extends to all fines, penalties and other amounts that a court has ordered an offender to pay (including an order for the payment of compensation by a person found guilty of an offence).
