Plain English Summary
4/10 complexity
This instrument transfers the budget and spending authority for Arts, Culture and Sport from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to the new DRALGAS after a December 2011 machinery‑of‑government change. It shifts departmental and administered funding (including direct payments) so DRALGAS can run and fund major institutions—National Gallery, National Library, National Museum, Australian Sports Commission, NFSA, ANMM, AFTRS and Screen Australia.
It ensures the new department has legal authority to spend those funds.
