Commonwealth legislation
This determination, made under subsection 9(1) of the Federal Financial Relations Act 2009 and dated 17 December 2018, specifies the dollar amounts the Commonwealth will pay to each State as general purpose financial assistance on 21 December 2018. It commences on the day it is made (section 2) and directs payment of the amounts listed in the table (section 3).
Mechanically, the instrument causes a one‑off transfer of untied funds from the Commonwealth to States; the Assistant Minister (the decision‑maker) sets the amounts and Treasury/Finance administers the payment.
