21Meetings of Board

##### 21 Meetings of Board (1) The Board shall hold such meetings as are necessary for the efficient performance of its functions and the discharge of its responsibilities. (2) The Chairperson: (a) may, at any time, convene a meeting of the Board; and (b) shall, on receipt of a written request signed by not less than 2 other members, convene a meeting of the Board. (3) The Minister may, at any time, convene a meeting of the Board. (4) The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Board at which he or she is present. (5) Where the Chairperson is not present at a meeting of the Board: (a) the Deputy Chairperson shall preside at the meeting; or (b) if the Deputy Chairperson is not present at the meeting—the members present shall appoint one of their number to preside at the meeting. (6) At a meeting of the Board, a quorum is constituted by the greater of: (a) 3 members; or (b) the number of members that constitutes a majority of the members for the time being holding office. (7) Questions arising at a meeting of the Board shall be determined by a majority of the votes of the members present and voting. (8) The person presiding at a meeting of the Board has a deliberative vote and, in the event of an equality of votes, also has a casting vote.
