66 Evidence may be given by affidavit or sworn or affirmed statement S. 66(1) amended by No. 6/2018 s. 68(Sch. 2 item 52.5). (1) The court may admit in a proceeding under this Act evidence given by a person by affidavit or sworn or affirmed statement. S. 66(2) amended by No. 53/2010 s. 201(3). (2) Subsection (1) applies despite any rules of evidence to the contrary or anything to the contrary in this Act or any other Act (other than the **Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities**). (3) A party to the proceeding may, with the leave of the court, require a person giving evidence by affidavit or by sworn or affirmed statement to attend the hearing of the proceeding to be called as a witness and to be cross-examined.
