26A Issue of family violence safety notice if recognised DVO in place (1) A police officer may issue a family violence safety notice for the protection of a person against a respondent whether or not there is a recognised DVO in relation to the same respondent and protected person. (2) If a police officer believes there may be a recognised DVO made by a court of any jurisdiction in relation to the same respondent and protected person, the police officer must before the first mention date, make reasonable enquiries to determine whether there is a recognised DVO in relation to the same respondent and protected person.
