207 Disclosure of information by organisations
(a) a police officer applies to an organisation in the prescribed way for information held by the organisation about a respondent; and
S. 207(1)(b) substituted by No. 19/2017 s. 29(1).
(b) the purpose of the application is to assist a police officer—
(i) to locate the respondent to enable a police officer to personally serve the respondent with a document under this Act; or
(2) If the organisation has the information requested in the application, the organisation must give the police officer the information.
(3) Information provided by an organisation under subsection (2) to a police officer—
(a) must relate only to the respondent, or an associate of the respondent for whom an order has been made or is being sought under this Act; and

(b) must not be used by a police officer for any purpose other than serving the respondent with a document under this Act; and
(c) must not be given by a police officer to—
(i) the protected person; or
(ii) any other organisation or person, other than another police officer or the court.

(3A) Despite subsection (3)(b) and (c), information provided by an organisation under subsection (2) may be used or disclosed in accordance with Part 5A.

***organisation*** has the meaning given by the **Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014**.
