24 Hearing
(1) On the hearing of an application for leave to appeal, the court may, with the consent of the parties or of its own motion:
(a) hear and determine the application; and
(b) treat the application as an application for directions; and
(c) hear and determine the appeal.
(2) If the court grants leave to appeal, the court may give such directions as it considers appropriate for the further conduct and hearing of the appeal.
