Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation is legislative housekeeping that simply bins outdated rules from 1981.

What it does: It formally deletes (repeals) the Family Law (Australian Institute of Family Studies) Regulations 1981.
Why it matters: The 1981 rules governed administrative aspects of the Australian Institute of Family Studies. By 2006 they were obsolete, so this instrument cleans them off the books.
Who is affected: Anyone specifically relying on the 1981 regulations (for example, old administrative procedures) will need to check what replaces them. For everyone else, this is a technical deletion with no practical impact.

Think of it as the legal equivalent of decluttering the shed—removing a defunct instrument that was gathering dust under the Family Law Act 1975.
