50 Damage etc to be minimised
(1) In the exercise, or purported exercise, of a function under this
division, an investigator must take all reasonable steps to ensure that
the investigator, and any person assisting the investigator, causes as
little inconvenience, detriment and damage as is practicable.
(2) If an investigator, or a person assisting an investigator, damages
anything in the exercise or purported exercise of a function under this
division, the investigator must give written notice of the particulars
of the damage to the person whom the investigator believes on
reasonable grounds is the owner of the thing.
(3) If the damage happens on premises entered under this division in the
absence of the occupier, the notice may be given by securing it in a
conspicuous place on the premises.
