This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument designates which occupations qualify as "skilled" for Australia's points-based skilled migration visas, allocates each occupation a points value that counts toward the visa threshold, and names the approved assessing authorities who must verify applicants' qualifications. It affects prospective migrants under various visa subclasses and application dates, uses ASCO and ANZSCO classifications, and applies different rules depending on when and where applicants applied and which visa stream they seek.
