This instrument updates Australia’s official list of travel agents approved to organise group tours for Chinese citizens visiting Australia, replacing the prior list. It names approved operators in Australia and China.
It affects Chinese tourists applying for group tourist visas and the travel agents/tour operators that arrange those tours. Only tours organised by listed agents qualify for the streamlined group visa arrangements under the Approved Destination Status scheme; unlisted agents cannot use that pathway.

I, DEIRDRE RUSSACK, Delegate of the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, acting under subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):
REVOKE the Instrument IMMI 09/096 specifying travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; and
SPECIFY the travel agents listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Instrument as travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
This Instrument, IMMI 09/130, commences on 23 November 2009.
