This instrument replaces the previous approved-travel-agent list and publishes new official lists of Australian and Chinese travel agents authorised to organise tours for Chinese citizens applying for Australian tourist visas. It affects Chinese applicants using organised tours and the travel agents who offer those tours. Only agents on the new lists can organise tours that qualify the applicant for this visa pathway, so using an unlisted agent may invalidate a visa application.

I, CHRISTINE MCPAUL, delegate of the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, acting under subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):
REVOKE the Instrument IMMI 09/015 specifying travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; and
SPECIFY the travel agents listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Instrument as travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
This Instrument, IMMI 09/042, commences on 24 April 2009.
