This instrument revokes the prior approved list and specifies the travel agents authorized to organize tours for PRC citizens applying for Australian tourist visas: 55 Australian agents and 87 Chinese agents. It affects Chinese nationals applying as part of organized tour groups and the travel agents that can arrange those tours; only tours run by listed agents qualify under this visa pathway.

I, CHRIS EVANS, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, acting under regulation 1.17 and subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):
REVOKE the Instrument IMMI 08/069 specifying travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; and
SPECIFY the travel agents listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Instrument as travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
This Instrument, IMMI 08/103 commences on 19 December 2008.
