This instrument updates the official list of travel agents authorised to organise group tours from the PRC to Australia, replacing the prior list. It names approved Australian and Chinese agencies whose tour bookings let Chinese citizens access a streamlined group tourist visa process.
It matters because only travellers booked through these named agents can use that specific visa route; booking with an unlisted agent requires applying under other, typically stricter, visa arrangements.

I, CHRIS EVANS, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, acting under regulation 1.17 and subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):
REVOKE the Instrument IMMI 08/022, signed on 10 April 2008, specifying travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; and
SPECIFY the travel agents listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Instrument as travel agents for the purposes of subparagraph 1218(1)(b)(iii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
This Instrument, IMMI 08/064, commences on 19 September 2008.
