This instrument authorises a $109,422 emergency budget top-up (an “advance”) from the Presiding Officers’ reserve to the Joint House Department under section 11(5) of the Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Act 1999–2000.
It enables immediate funding for day‑to‑day parliamentary operations when waiting for a new appropriation would be impractical, and ensures the Presiding Officers later report the expenditure to Parliament.
