7‑2 Period of effect of export permit
For the purposes of paragraph 228(b) of the Act, an export permit for prescribed plants or plant products remains in force (unless it is revoked under section 233 of the Act): (a) if a validity period for the plants or plant products applies—until the end of the validity period; or (b) in any other case—for 28 days starting on the day the permit is issued.
Note 1: An export permit takes effect when it is issued (see paragraph 228(a) of the Act).
Note 2: See section 9‑12 in relation to the application of validity periods.
Note 3: An export permit (other than an export permit that was issued by electronic means) must be retained in a secure place when it is not being used (see section 11‑4).
