Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This short legal document cancels (repeals) two old sets of rules that specifically controlled how mung beans could be exported from Australia.

Who it affects: Australian farmers, producers, and traders who export mung beans (a small green legume used in cooking).

The details:

It scraps the Export Control (Mung Beans) Orders and the Export Control (Mung Beans) Amendment Orders 2005 (No. 1).
It takes effect on 1 November 2007.
After this date, those specific export restrictions for mung beans no longer exist—though general export laws may still apply.

Why it matters: This reduces red tape for agricultural exporters by removing crop-specific regulations, likely because mung beans were moved under broader commodity export laws or because those particular controls were no longer considered necessary.
