#### 5‑9 Compliance with decisions and dispositions (1) A decision or disposition, and any conditions specified in relation to a decision or disposition, applied to animals by a veterinary officer or an authorised officer must be complied with. > Note: Decisions and dispositions may be applied to animals only by a veterinary officer or an authorised officer (see section 9‑28). (2) A disposition, and any conditions specified in relation to a disposition, applied to carcases or carcase parts, or prescribed meat or meat products, by an authorised officer must be complied with. (3) For the purposes of this section, a decision or disposition: (a) is a decision about the admission of animals for slaughter, or a disposition that may be applied to animals, carcases or carcase parts, or prescribed meat or meat products, by an authorised officer under Division 2 of Part 4 of Chapter 9; and (b) includes: (i) a variation of such a decision or disposition; and (ii) any conditions specified in relation to such a decision or disposition. > Note 1: For decisions and dispositions that may be applied by authorised officers in relation to animals, carcases or carcase parts, or prescribed meat or meat products, see sections 9‑22 to 9‑25. > Note 2: Carcases or carcase parts may be retained for further inspection, tests or treatment pending final disposition (see paragraphs 9‑24(3)(d) and (4)(a)).
