5‑34 Establishments where eggs or egg products that are not for export etc. are prepared

(1) Operations to prepare prescribed eggs or egg products must not be carried out at an establishment where either of the following operations are also carried out: (a) operations to prepare animal food or pharmaceutical material; (b) operations to prepare any other food (including eggs or egg products) that is not prescribed eggs or egg products.

Note: Example: Operations to prepare food for domestic consumption.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if: (a) the operations to prepare the prescribed eggs or egg products are carried out at a registered establishment in accordance with an approved arrangement; and (b) the fitness for human consumption and integrity of the prescribed eggs or egg products are ensured; and (c) operations referred to in paragraph (1)(a) or (b) to prepare eggs or egg products at the establishment comply with the requirements of the Act for prescribed eggs or egg products.
