244  Additional or corrected information  (1) A person who has given a notice of intention to export a consignment of prescribed goods must comply with subsection (2) if:  (a) the person becomes aware that information included in the notice, or information or a document given to the Secretary in relation to the notice, was incomplete or incorrect; or  (2) The person must, as soon as practicable, give the Secretary additional or corrected information, to the extent that it is relevant to assessing whether:  (a) the requirements of this Act in relation to the export of the goods have been, are being, or will be complied with; or  (b) importing country requirements relating to the goods have been, are being, or will be met. Note 1: A person may commit an offence or be liable to a civil penalty if the person provides false or misleading information or documents (see sections 137.1 and 137.2 of the Criminal Code and sections 368 and 369 of this Act).
